The first

Visit

During our first meeting, we will discuss your needs and options. Sometimes you may wait a while before treatment or we may ask you to see other specialists and oral health professionals first.

Our methods include 3D scanning, X-ray imaging and determination through oral and facial photographs. We then crystallize this data into a digital plan, which will then be shared with you. In this plan, you will find the type of braces, expected treatment time, costs, potential risks and alternatives. If you accept the plan, we will have the brackets made. Next, the braces will be placed on you.

The Invisible

Braces

Your treatment begins with the placement of braces, either removable, invisible aligners or the familiar fixed brackets. After that, you’ll come for regular checkups, varying between 4, 8 or 12 weeks, depending on growth and type of braces.

These sessions are needed for fine-tuning or for subtle adjustments. Sometimes it will be necessary to make some space between the teeth with a rough strip, or we apply rubber bands. The progress of treatment is determined by many factors: jaw growth and development, your motivation, and the response of the teeth and muscles to the braces. Also crucial is the wearing time of the braces and following our instructions.

Important

Check ups

You bear the responsibility of keeping an eye on your checks, but of course we are here to help with scheduling. Even if your schedule is very full or you are working or staying abroad, we will take your schedule into account.

It is essential to follow controls closely enough. Should regularity be compromised, this may not only prolong treatment time but also compromise the final outcome.

Complains

Orthodontics

Especially during the first few weeks of wearing braces, you may experience pain and sensitivity. Parts also get loose from time to time. In this case, taking immediate action is important for your comfort and continuity. We are ready to alleviate symptoms and repair braces where needed. We can also help you by phone or email to answer your questions and address any concerns.

Aligners from

Invisalign

Invisalign Aligners. Transparent covers made of plastic that you slide over your teeth. An invisible force that aligns your smile while others barely realize it. Every ten days or so, you replace the braces so that they subtly move your teeth to better symmetry.

Removable

Braces

Removable braces, also known as “loose braces” or block braces, improve the position and shape of the jaws. These are only suitable for growing children and encourage proper development of the chewing system. They primarily have an orthodontic function.

Retainers

and splints

After the corrective bracket phase – after the active treatment has done its job and the bracket has been removed – the retention phase comes into play. Custom-made night guards, also known as retainers, will be made for you to maintain the beautiful result. You should wear these at night.

Fixed

Braces

Fixed braces, also called block, plate or brackets, cannot be taken off. The brackets are highly advanced mechanics made of a mix of metals and are bonded to the teeth with high-quality composite. A wire is inserted through the brackets which will align the arch of the teeth.

After the

Treatment

Once you approach the end of the treatment, we evaluate the result together to assess whether or not some details can be improved. This involves taking final photographs, X-rays and a 3D scan.

Retention period

After we have achieved the intended goal, the braces will be removed with care. The teeth are cleaned, the adhesive residue gently polished off, and we explain which retainer is best for you.

Often a night brace will be best for both the upper and lower jaw, but very occasionally a splint offers a solution as well, and even both can be combined for added security. Night braces (retainers) last about 2 to 3 years on average, provided you don’t grind or clench and take proper care of them. We are happy to give you 3 sets, so that you also have spares should one be lost or damaged.

A dedicated team for your the future

If unexpected changes occur or a tooth still moves slightly during the retention period, do not hesitate to contact us. We also offer follow-up appointments to discuss the situation together. Our service is also there for you after the treatment.
